European stocks fall as banks are hit by turmoil in Turkey

European shares fell on Friday morning as concerns about the Turkish lira's decline weighed on the market, with banks most exposed to Ankara among the biggest losers.
France's BNP Paribas, Italy's UniCredit and Spain's BPA fell nearly 3 percent after the Financial Times published a report saying the ECB was concerned about its exposure to Turkey in the light of the lira's decline.
As most sectors fell, banks led the greenback, with the sector index down 1.3 percent.
By 0714 GMT, the Stoxx 600 European index fell 0.5 percent.
"There are still big moves in Turkey and Russia that prevent everyone from enjoying the summer," Jim Reid and Jeff Kaye, economic experts at Deutsche Bank, said in a note issued on Friday morning.
On the other hand, Germany's K + S shares for potash fell 8.8 percent to stoop Stokes as a profit warning
