The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) said Monday that Japan is providing financial assistance to displaced people in Iraq and Syria.
"Japan has pledged $ 19 million to displaced people in Iraq and Syria in 2018," the UNHCR said in a press release.
She added that 15 million dollars had been provided by Japan to help the displaced in Iraq, while another 4 million were allocated to help displaced people in Syria.
"Since the start of the conflict in Iraq in 2014, Japan has provided UNHCR with $ 73 million," it said.
