Maliki Receives US Transport Secretary

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Premier Nouri Al-Maliki received today US Transport Secretary Raymond LaHood, according to a statement issued by his office.
The statement, copy received by Aswat al-Iraq, stated that Premier Maliki said that "Iraq is determined to develop its roads, airports and ports to benefit from US companies' expertise", reiterating his call for US companies to "work in Iraq and contribute in the reconstruction of the country".
It added that LaHood expressed the desire of his country to "cooperate and enhance relations with Iraq", adding that "we have the power and readiness to work in fields of roads, bridges, ports, and railways."
