MessageToEagle.com - Spectacular Reed Flute Cave is a magnificient place located just north of Guilin City in the northeast of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of far southern China.

The cave has multicolored lighting and is one of Guilin’s most interesting attractions for over 1200 years.

This wonder of nature, about 200 million years old, is half a kilometer long and got its name from the verdant reeds growing outside it, which are used to make flutes.

The temperature inside this water-eroded cave is about 20°C.

It's a spectacular world of various stalactites, stone pillars, and rock formations created by carbonate deposition.

Illuminated by colored lighting, the fantastic spectacle is found in many variations along this 240-meter-long cave.

Due to the dimness inside the cave, it's not easy to capture the full beauty using regular cameras, so it's better to enjoy the sight with your own eyes.

Walking through the serried stone pillars, tourists feast their eyes on changing spots, feeling they are in a paradise where the Gods once lived.

There is a variety of formation that have very beautiful and often legendary names like Crystal Palace, Dragon Pagoda, Virgin Forest, Flower and Fruit Mountain.

For some of the cave's unbelievable stone structures, you need to use your imagination, even if all the structures have collected a large number of fairy or romantic stories through the centuries.

Although there are different kinds of lighting inside, the light inside is not sufficient for exposure.

It's rather difficult to take pictures inside the cave system, unless visitors are professional photographers.
