The Turkish currency fell during trading today, Thursday, to a new historical level, after its exchange rate reached 15.21 liras to the dollar.

By 09:38 Moscow time, the Turkish currency was trading at the level of 15.07 lira to the dollar, and before that the currency reached the level of 15.21 lira to the dollar, which is a historical low level.

The decline comes amid expectations that Turkey's central bank will cut its key interest rate by 100 basis points at its meeting on Thursday, despite a sharp increase in inflation in the country.
