MarkZ Posts Pics Of The New Currency! (If He Had Only Done A Little More Research! LOL)

Belarusian designer Andrey Avgust proposes a contemporary and exciting redesign concept for the American dollar, rotating the familiar green banknotes’ format from landscape to portrait and visualising them with a translucent layer of flexible plastic to resist to the everyday wear and tear.
The project features bills of one, 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 banknotes that feature portraits of historical American figures back to back with familiar iconography: Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, John F. Kennedy and Benjamin Franklin, as well as the Liberty Bell, the Statue of Liberty, the star-spangled banner and Buzz Aldrin.
Avgust also imagined modern measures against counterfeiting such as unique QR codes and inks visible only under UV lights. For the meantime it’s just a concept, but we’d love to see the project come into fruition. See more of Avgust’s work here and on Instagram.
