Central Bank Governor: Iraq is implementing its reform plans

Governor of the Central Bank, Mustafa Ghaleb Makhaif, confirmed, on Thursday, that Iraq is implementing its reform plans.

The Central Bank said in a statement that Mawazine News received a copy of, that "his governor participated, as a representative of Iraq, in the spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund."

Frightening stressed during a speech delivered at the meeting, "Iraq is implementing its reform plans towards fiscal and monetary policy."

He pointed out, "The Corona pandemic was and still is one of the obstacles facing the Iraqi economy despite the proactive measures that the central bank or the government worked on," stressing, "the country's keenness on international and regional openness in a way that serves Iraq's economic and financial interests." I AM WITH YOU CLARE ON YOUR ABOVE SAID COMMENTS ….SURELY THE IRAQ ECONOMIC AND FINANCIAL REFORMS CANNOT AND WILL NOT TAKE PLACE WITHOUT THE CHANGE IN EXCHANGE RATE OF THE IQD ….PRECISELY AS SIR FRANK TOLD US TO LOOK ONLY TO CBI FOR THE RATE CHANGE AND THEY WILL NOT WAIT FOR A WHOLE YEAR TO INCREASE THE RATE ….THUS TO MAKE THEIR CITIZENS SUFFER MORE….. THEREFORE NOW IS THE TIME AND HOPEFULLY THEY WILL PULL THE TRIGGER SHORTLY…… IMO

Sounds good to me.. But, we knew this already.. They have been working to complete now for a long time and have finally got where we need to be.. or where they are to be.. lol Just like we have been told that they are having meetings and they are on going.. Well now it is show time.. imo.. ~ MM

Agreed MM. Remember, the WP's do NOT work at 1460 much less 1190 so the next move is on the CBI. Making the rate change is the door requiring unlocking for the Country of Iraq to welcome in the secondary markets and other International investors to walk on in.

We know there are "Billions" on the sideline just waiting to enter when their investment dollars can be protected, monitored, and moved as necessary to impact any investment in a positive direction.

With the dropping of the PR to 1460 on 12/20 it fueled inflation as well as the 21+% increase in price/cost of goods to the citizens.

Therefore, IMO, clearly, the excitement we saw yesterday was NOT as much the budget passed with the PR provided, but because the people know what is coming in the dropping of the 3 zero's positively impacting their imminent purchasing power and providing opportunity for all!!
