US Embassy: Baghdad has not broken sanctions on Iran

issued a US embassy in Baghdad Wednesday, a spokeswoman for clarification on the statements of the State Department US relationship Iraq sanctions against Iran, confirming the absence of any breach of them.
The embassy said in a clarification, Alsumaria News received a copy of it, "After reviewing the question and answer to the question and following up the subject with the Deputy Ambassador, the clarification of the subject is as follows:
In her answer to the question indicated Ms. Hahar efforts in resolving outstanding issues between the government of the province Kurdistan and the Government of Iraq.
With regard to the partial sanctions on Iran, she said that countries that violate sanctions will be held accountable.
As you know, the sanctions are to deal in dollars with Iran.
As you know, the prime minister said Iraq would not deal with the dollar with Iran.
So there is no breach of sanctions.
The US embassy in Baghdad said that "the way the Iraqi media carried this news was inaccurate."
A spokesman for the US State Department, Heather Neuert, said in a statement that "violators of the sanctions regime may themselves be subject to sanctions," but a number of media outlets linked this statement to the recent clarification by Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi about sanctions .
