Look here :) IRAN proir to 1979

Pass that doobie over here....I could use a few tokes

First that is IRAN, not Iraq. This was before Khomeini and his cronies took control. Until the present theocracy is overthrown there is no hope of ever seeing this again in Iran. Demographically, Iran is over 90% Shia, while Iraq is much more diverse. Things being what they are in the Middle East, this means a lot of infighting. Iraq only saw some sort of begrudging unity under Saddam, who used an Iron fist to subdue anyone who did not toe the party line. Ask the Kurds what life was like under his brutal control.

While it would be a good thing for all peoples to co-exist, it's not gonna happen, certainly not in Iraq. We still see Kurds threatening to secede, and Sunni and S'hia adherents violently disagreeing. In the meantime, we see ISIL extending their brutal reign over large swaths of the region. They have turned their eyes on Baghdad, and things are gonna get really ugly. At best, we will see an uneasy truce in Iraq, at worst, we see Iraq descend into the sort of chaos we see to their west in Syria. No I take that back, at worst, we see ISIL getting their hands on nuclear or other weapons of mass destruction and unleashing them on Israel and their other enemies. If that happens we see the entire region descending into chaos. 

You want to see true peace? Pray that the Lord hastens His return, because we will not see true world peace until there is no king but King Jesus.

Wow looks like I pushed someone's hot button ... Jesus also called the Pharisees (ruling religious class) snakes and white washed sepulchers. and he also made a scourge and attacked the sellers in the temple. OH BTW, if you know biblical history, you would also be aware that the whole turning the other cheek, giving your tunic, walking the extra mile bit was in reality quite aggressive -- about as aggressive as you could get in that society without getting yourself killed.

For the record, I will absolutely exercise my right of free speech and quote the bible at will, not that I actually did in my original post. At best, I very loosely paraphrased a summation of passages. Nor do I particularly care what you think about it.

Oh one last thing, I don't see how you possibly construed from my statement that people were not created equal. Guilty Conscience?
