Tasty Turd Cookies This gross Halloween recipe is easy to make and eat. Yellow M&Ms can be used in place of the yellow candy corn tops, but don’t give the same, well... “undigested corn” appearance. 1 recipe Rice Krispy treats or popcorn balls, still hot & unshaped 12 oz. semisweet chocolate 2 T. shortening 1 sm. pkg. candy corns Wooden skewers (optional) With a knife, remove the red and orange sections from candy corns, leaving only the yellow “corn” tops. Prepare Rice Krispy treats or popcorn balls recipe as directed. (Rice Krispy treats are easier to shape). Instead of shaping into balls or pressing into a pan, form the treats into oblong “turd” shapes. Let cool to set. In a double boiler or in the microwave, melt together chocolate and shortening, stirring until well combined. Using a wooden skewer (or a fork), skewer each “turd” treat and dip into warm chocolate. Set on wax paper. While still warm, press 3-4 candy corn tops into chocolate. Repeat. Let cool to set. -- Edited by Noh-Varr on Tuesday 7th of October 2014 12:25:48 AM
