I agree as well, except the Chapter 7 part. They are ignoring it because it has absolutely no bearing on this. All financial sanctions under Chapter 7 were released years ago. The only thing remaining is the war reparations aspect, and it is on auto pilot with no effect on the RV. A small portion of the oil sales is set aside for that item and nothing further need be done.

Hey Kevin, I am under the impression that they cannot join the WTO without release from CH7. If true, then IMHO, the RV would be pretty much worthless to Iraq.

WTO deals strictly with trade, not currency, and is not any part of the UN. As I understand it, the barriers to WTO accession are strictly trade related, (tariffs, intellectual property protection, trade treaties, and other potential barriers to trade).

I see no connection between WTO membership and UN Chapter 7, nor do I see any connections between WTO and the RV. They can and are trading regardless of full membership in the WTO, and will continue to do so. (For example, China's accession to full membership was not until 2001 and they were a major trading partner with the US well before that.) IMO all the WTO talk is just so much guru speak.

We got rid of 2 in our primary election yesterday. They were local/state but just the same we the people spoke - and loudly as the difference was 62% to 36% with the rest going to the other candidates. not sure where that came from - but I am sure about this. People seek thier own level - and I believe that those still around here on DDD seek to be informed and add to their intelligence. So if you were to be the "s" word - what does that make the rest of us?? Getting back to the RV not happening -- I see that the new "guru" CRUISER is out there cruising around yet. He stated that this would be over by the 1st of Sept. I wonder which YEAR he had in mind - ah,he did say THIS year. Darn and I thought he knew what he was talking about. Just proves that NONE of them KNOW anything and they just keep on keepin' on with their gibberish and balderdash!!!
