Okie needs to keep quiet until he has the real info we all need to get our lives in order-When he does post, it's always the' I am sworn to be quiet, and can't indulge in any information pertaining to our position as of yet- How stupid does he think we all are? If the info was real, then why doesn't he e-mail us with the particulars? Getting old, this is-

Re: Okie from Recaps
Not only does he lead us on BUT he also leaves us hanging. Okie is good at coming on with tantalizing information "HINTS" and then stating that he will BBL when it goes -- only he never does come back until he has another "tantalizer" statement.
Okie needs to change his moniker to "THE BOY WHO CALLED WOLF."
Speaking of wolf - where is little red riding hood? You know - the RV? OH, I forgot, we can't talk about that or we will delay the event. Sorry guys and gals - there will be a 10 year delay due to my transgression and violation of the rule. Beat me with a wet noodle 1,000 times and turn me into an Alaskan fisherman. This year the King Salmon fishing stinks BIG TIME as the return is LOW-Low-LOW.
And now for the RV forecast: partly happening with periods of hope and occasional periods of dispair. The 10 year forecast is - more of the same. And now to you local news channel.
I will depart with a positive note: Somewhere out there is an RV just waiting to happen. It will happen when it happens and 'roos/sources are just guessing as to when. The positive note? High C.

Scam, no. Speculative investment, yes. Fools trying to be heroes, you betcha. Pumpers trying to make a fast buck, perhaps, but I will not accuse without proof. I can't speak for everyone, but I came into this knowing and counting the risks. Is there risk? Oh yea, there's a lot of risk, just dealing with this part of the world is risky. Is the risk worth it? I think so, worst case, I walk away with a nice profit, best case I walk away with an obscene profit thanking God for the windfall.

Thanks Kevin.
I think the worst case part for me differs.
Worst case for me is that I wasted money on something that is a scam.
Best case scenario is that I may actually get my "investment" money back.
Super best most awesome case... I make a bit of a profit.

Perhaps that is where we differ, I came into this knowing full well that the potential existed to loose it all. But I do not expect that to happen. Maybe as an insurance agent versed in the investment industry, I have a different viewpoint than most, but I am very aware that any investment I make, ANY investment carries risk, you evaluate the risks, and decide which ones and how much you are comfortable with. Even a savings account has risks, default, loss of real value due to inflation. Stocks have market risks ... just ask the poor schmoes who had money in say GE at between $50 - 60 a share only to see it at under 20 today. Risk is a part of any investment, and the potential for loss does not make it a scam ... no matter how painful it is.
What Madoff did was a scam, but there was no real investment. The victims were promised, but received no value for their money, and except for a very few who got out early, had no hope of ever seeing any return. Bermie was just cooking the books and skimming cash off the top.

Re: Okie from Recaps
Well, I have never invested any money at all except in this dinar thingy. As a struggling single mom of 4 I never had any extra for any investing.
I was brought into this adventure by one of the owners of the business that I manage and did no research at all. I just believed what this man told me. He is pretty successful so I thought maybe this is a good thing. Now I just don't care because it is not what he or I was told. I don't have buyers remorse. I accept that it is most likely something that will never produce the fruit that I was told it would. And I value it for the fact that it brought me to so much more than any amount of money ever could. Also it did not take me years to see the truth, only months. I feel for those that are still clinging to the hope. But who knows..... I may very well be wrong... again......

Yes there was, and I am taking that as a good thing, hoping that my read is the right one. Like most things, there is more than one way to see things, especially when dealing with translations that are umm ... less than perfect....

My Mother had it also. Had a stroke that put her in a home and we watched her decline, that took 10 years. Very sad how the elders are shoved off. We saw her all the time but so many in her facility had no one. Very sad.

It is very sad- Some of those people don't know why they are there, or where they are, and their relatives or younger kids bring them there because they don't want to deal with them, and would rather put the burden on someone else-:( Nice way to get rid of their parents, ain't it?:?:

Re: Okie from Recaps
Well it is not always like that. It is not always a question of burden terbo. Example: My Mother was retired forcefully and was living on social security and had medicare. Now here in Illinois, if you take your parent into your home you are financially responsible etc. At the time I had 4 children to raise basically by myself and worked 2, sometimes 3 jobs. She was partially paralyzed and then the dementia set in quickly. I was not set up physically for handicapped nor could I afford to set this up. It broke all of our hearts to see her there.... but at the same time because she had previously been an alcoholic and smoked 3 packs a day at least we knew she was safe. Sometimes these things are a blessing. We saw her every week end for 10 years and brought her to our home every holiday. She died on 2/09/2009 right after a full moon eclipse. It was an interesting decade.

Re: Okie from Recaps
The fact is even with the best meaning kids, the time comes when they can no longer care for their parents. A friend of mine had to commit his father after he almost crippled himself twice trying to lift his father. Not long afterward, his father's Alzheimer's progressed to the point he only knew Ken on occasion. I have another friend who has been caring for her mom for many years due to a stroke. She is able to only because her mother is able to help pay for caregivers to come in part time.
In my business I work with the elderly and their families all the time, there is always more to the story than we see. Children not in a position to take care of their parents, be it financially, physically, location, young children at home ... a lot of reasons. Sometimes, there are no children to care for them. My point is, as hard as it may seem, many times there are good and legitimate reasons why people are placed in homes.

That is so wonderful that you could do that for him terbo. You are truly blessed that you could be able to be there.
I worked for a time in nursing homes and I could just cry over the conditions of some of them and how lonely these poor folks are. The men and women that work in these places are heroes in my eyes.
I pray for a better tomorrow for our children and ancient ones. They, we, deserve much better than what is in place.

Re: Okie from Recaps
Mom will be 90 in August. Physically in pretty good health. Been in the throes of AZ probably for about 7 - 8 years. Fortunately our family had the means to support having her placed in the best AZ care facility in the area. I visit her frequently, and it's really hard to see her eat with her hands, and to see all of the other signs of her disease. Another hard part is making friends with the other residents only to find them "missing" on a given visit. I hope that I go before I reach the stage that mom is in. My heart goes out to anyone who has (or lost) a loved one to this disease. I know what you are going through!

Re: Okie from Recaps
My mother passed away in 2008,in April-She was 77- She also had the advanced stages of alzheimer's disease, but also dealt with lung cancer for 5 years, and died in Orlando Cancer unit-She had aspirated in her sleep, and was kept on life support for about 2 weeks-We all agreed to having her taken off life support, as we did not want her to suffer any longer-All of my immediate family from Maine was there, and was there when they pronounced her dead at 11:37 pm- And I'll never be the same-She was my step mom, but the only 'Best Mom' I ever had- My biological mother left me in my Dads arms in 1957, took off with her new'boyfriend', and moved to Washington State to start another family,so that tells me I was NOT included in her 'Plan'- :(

NO, Terbo, you were not on the wrong script. Just being honest and thinking about life as it really is. Nothing wrong or embarrassing about that. Many should have been so lucky to have family that cared enough to be there for them. Nothing wrong with caring about someone.

Ditto what AK said terbo.
Interesting the way this thread is going. I love it. Thank you for sharing terbo and dinarling. We all have so very much in common.
And talking about this stuff is way more important than anything that Okie might have to say imho.
My dad did what your mom did terbo. I worked very hard to forgive him for breaking my heart. I still have residual feelings from the abandonment but now that I see things in a different way I have been able to get past the hurt. I must have signed up for it so I could learn.
